Chartered Institute of Management Accountants. CIMA is an internationally recognised organisation for management accountants. Together with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), CIMA awards the globally respected CIMA Professional Qualification and the Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) designation.
Through the partnership between VRC and CIMA, registercontrollers can obtain these qualifications through an accelerated route. Your existing education and work experience in management accountancy are recognised, so you do not need to complete the full CIMA programme.

The Fast Track consists of the following steps:
- Register with VRC via the website or member portal.
- Create a CIMA account and send us the registration form, so that CIMA can confirm your registration.
- Follow the online programme with David Harris, in evening and weekend sessions.
- Take the Strategic Case Study exam.
- Submit your Practical Experience Requirements (PER) to CIMA. In your PER you demonstrate at least three years of relevant work experience. For each required competency, you describe a concrete example from your own work, signed off by a supervisor. CIMA assesses every application, and some applications are randomly selected for audit. If CIMA asks for additional information, you will need to update and resubmit your application.
- Receive your CGMA designation once CIMA has approved your PER. You will then become a CIMA member and pay the annual CIMA membership fee.

David Harris FCMA CGMA is a freelance trainer and a highly experienced CIMA Case Study tutor with a global reputation. He has been delivering the Strategic Case Study program since 1999. David Harris has also worked as a management consultant, specializing in strategy, risk, and futurology. He brings a wealth of practical experience to ‘bring subjects to life.’ In 2026, David Harris will be delivering the CIMA programs for VRC.
Resultaat
After completing the programme, passing the Strategic Case Study exam and having your practical experience approved by CIMA, you will receive the Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) designation.
